Commitment Ceremonies

In your ceremony, you can:

• make promises to each other as life partners
• exchange rings or other gifts
• have attendants like bridesmaids or groomsmen
• have a procession, readings and rituals
• sign certificates with witnesses (if you like)

A commitment ceremony can be similar to a wedding, without the legals.  This is for couples who for various reasons may not want to hold a legal ceremony.

I provide:

• online resources to give you ideas for your ceremony
• a questionnaire to help me get to know you and what you are looking for in your ceremony
• a PA system on the day to enable guests to hear your ceremony
• a certificate to commemorate your commitment
• an optional rehearsal

Do our guests have to know that this is not a legal wedding ceremony?

Yes, we do need to state that this is not a legal ceremony.  This is required by law under the Marriage Act 1961.
