I work with funeral directors to conduct a service in a chapel or at the graveside. Funeral services are the more formal way of farewelling your loved one. They are generally organised through your funeral director and will have a set time and format. You can still request your own celebrant, regardless of which funeral home you choose. I work with a number of different funeral directors and am experienced in liaising with them on your behalf to assist with the details of your ceremony.
Thank you so much, Marlee, for the funeral service for my uncle. It was just how we wanted it to be. You gave us the support we needed to make some decisions around the ceremony and how to write and deliver the eulogy and we appreciated your care and attention to detail. It really reflected the person he was and his important legacy for all of us.

How much do you charge?
If I'm contracted by the funeral director on your behalf, they will specify my fee for you. If you ask me to be your celebrant, I'll generally charge the same amount as you would pay to the funeral director for a celebrant they chose.
Can I have my own celebrant or do I have to have one the funeral director recommends?
You can choose your own celebrant. It is important for you to feel comfortable with the celebrant you choose. Funeral directors get to know the celebrants they work with and will generally recommend one who will meet your needs. But you can go with your own celebrant and often this is a more personal choice.
