Memorial Services

A memorial service is often done at a later date to a funeral or on an anniversary or other significant date. It can be quite similar to a funeral ceremony if you want it to be. It's often held at a residence or venue or outdoors, compared to a traditional funeral held at a funeral chapel or graveside.

• writing a ceremony for you that includes your ideas and requests
• support with ideas for your ceremony
• travel and attendance on the day
• a PA system if needed
• a table if needed to display items such as photos and other ceremony items

Marlee did a memorial ceremony for our Dad and it was just how we  wanted it to be – on his favourite beach on the Gold Coast, relaxed,  simple and heartfelt, with all the elements we wanted and a release of  flowers at the end to float out onto the ocean that was such a big part  of his life.

How do I organise a memorial service?

The first step is to decide where you want to hold it and what facilities you want available. The number of attendees may also influence your choice of venue. Booking your celebrant early is also a good idea so that you can finalise bookings for other services or the venue.
